A Total Hip Replacement is a very common operation to help relieve pain and stiffness in the hip joint. It is a very effecitve operation for people with long term hip pain due to conditions such as osteoarthritis.

A hip replacement replaces the diseased hip joint with an artificial joint.

Symptoms of a Painful Hip

If you have a diseased hip joint, then normal everyday activities such as walking or getting in and out of a chair may be painful and difficult.

Your hip may be stiff and it may be very hard to put on your shoes and socks.

The pain is worsened by movement.

Severe arthritis can also cause pain during rest.
