Xray

An X-ray usually will confirm that you have a fracture and show exactly what part of your hip is fractured and how severe it is.

CT scan or MRI

If your X-ray doesn't show a fracture but you still have hip pain, a CT or MRI scan may be ordered to look for a small hairline fracture.
