• Protect your joints. Osteoarthrits can start after you injure your joint. People who participate in contact sports like football, are more exposed to injuring their joints and risk developing osteoarthrits.
  • Sports that are good for your joints. Keep your muscles strong and joints flexible. Sports such as swimming and bicycle are best for your joints as they put the least pressure through them.
  • Avoid injuries and fractures. People who injure their joints, for example by breaking their bones and joints (intra-articular fractures), risk developing osteoarthritis.
