A nurse is the healthcare worker who spends the most time monitoring and caring for you while you are in hospital. Their main roles include frequent monitoring of your medical state, procedures such as putting in IV lines and taking blood, and they also give you your medications. While at the bedside, the nurse who is looking after you will be the primary point of contact for you during your recovery. Due to this they will pick up any changes or concerns and relay them immediately to your doctor.
